RC cars are available in different sizes; while some are very small, others are unbelievably huge. The scale size of RC cars is what makes you differentiate their sizes. There are 1/10, 1/6, 1/12, 1/8, 1/16, 1/28, 1/64, 1/3, and 1/5 scale RC cars available.
When you look at 1/10 and 1/16 RC cars, you would think that the 1/16 RC car is bigger. The bigger remote-controlled car is the 1/10 car. RC scale size works differently; the larger the scale size of an RC car, the smaller the car. The scale size is the size when compared to a real car.
It is imperative to know the scale size of RC cars before you purchase one. Otherwise, you might buy a car with a large scale size, thinking it is a monster RC car, and end up with a children's remote-controlled car.
What Is The Biggest Size RC Car?
RC scale size has confused many buyers because they do not understand how it works. The scale size of an RC car is the size of the car in comparison with a full-sized car. So, if you have a 1/10 size RC car, that means it is 10 times smaller than a full-sized car of a similar model.
With this in mind, when you see the scale size of any RC car, you can tell whether it is a large or small car. The biggest RC car in the world is the Mammuth Rewarron. However, it is not yet available for purchase, so the biggest is the Raminator Monster Truck. Let us look at both RC cars.
This is the largest RC car, with a scale size of 1/3, meaning it is one-third the size of an actual car. The Mammuth Rewarron is 72 inches long, 35 inches wide, 29 inches high, and weighs 176 pounds. This is the only 1/3 scale RC car in the world, and it is nicknamed the remote-controlled testosterone.
The top speed of the Mammuth Rewarron is 45 mph, which is incredibly fast for an RC car with a huge size. Although it is still in production, there are three models, Serial, Premium, and Competition. This RC car features traction control, anti-lock disc brakes (ABS), and telemetry control.
Each model of the Mammuth Rewarron will feature a different engine; since we do not know the specifications and features of each model, we cannot tell which engine will be used for all. The three engines that will be used are a 200-cc 4 stroke engine, a 250-cc 4 stroke engine, and a 350-cc 4 stroke engine.
The estimated price of purchasing the Mammuth Rewarron when it becomes available is between $5000 to $15000. This monster car features an optional touchscreen control system that is powered by the Linux operating system. And it gives the operator control over telemetry data, brake balance, wheel revolutions per minute (RPM), engine temperature, voltage, engine RPM, fuel level, G-Force, GPS position, and oil pressure.
Raminator Monster Truck
Similar to the Mammuth Rewarron, the Raminator RC truck also has three different models from two different manufacturers, Losi and Primal. These three models all have different scale sizes: Primal 1/5 scale Raminator Monster Truck, Losi 1/8 Scale Raminator RC Monster Truck, and Losi 1/18 Scale Raminator RC Monster Truck.
Primal 1/5 scale Raminator Monster Truck
This is the biggest RC car in production; it is a 1/5 scale RC car and is 40 inches long, 32 inches wide, 24 inches high, and weighs 80 pounds. It is equipped with a 49-cc 2-stroke engine that features a remote-engine killswitch. The top speed of this RC monster truck is 30 mph, and it costs $3000.
It features an adjustable aluminum 4-link suspension, a 78 mm centrifugal clutch, heavy-duty CNC aluminum modular axles, front and rear axle-mounted disc brakes. It also features a 2.4GHz 6-channel computer radio with dual-rate steering, servo reversing on all channels, an LCD screen, low voltage alarm, exponential throttle, steering, and endpoint adjustment.
Losi 1/8 Scale Raminator RC Monster Truck
This is the second biggest RC car available for purchase, the Losi 1/8 scale monster truck. It is 22 inches long, 18.5 inches wide, and weighs 13 pounds. This monster truck features a single 818 digital brake servo, front and rear drivetrain differentials, twin 818 digital high-torque steering servos, and digital throttle for precise response and control.
It features a 2.4GHz Losi radio system that comes with DSM technology that provides interference-free control. The power, strength, and durability of the truck come from the solid 4ED chassis and drivetrain. This truck is capable of conquering every terrain you operate it in. It cost $770.
Losi 1/18 Scale Raminator RC Monster Truck
This is the smallest Raminator truck available for purchase; it is 10.6 inches long, 8.2 inches wide, and weighs 2.2 pounds. It features a 27 MHz synthesized radio system, unlike the other two ruminator trucks. 6 different drivers can operate the Losi 1/18 Raminator truck simultaneously without interference.
The top speed of this RC truck is 40 mph, and the body is produced from the great dodge ram body. You can upgrade the performance of the motor by installing a second motor to the motor already installed in the truck. This will provide more power and speed. The cost of this truck is $270; it is the cheapest ruminator truck.
Which Is Bigger 1/10 Scale Or 1/18 Scale RC Car?
We mentioned earlier that the scale size of an RC car is its size compared to the size of a full-sized car. The larger the scale size ratio, the smaller the car size, and the smaller the scale size ratio, the larger the car size.
What Is The Size Of A 1/10 Scale RC Car?
The average size of a 1/10 scale RC car is between 17.5 inches and 21.6 inches long, 4.2 inches and 9.1 inches high, and 7.8 inches and 14.4 inches wide. The average weight is within the range of 3.2 to 11.2 pounds. Let us look at some 1/10 scale RC cars.
Traxxas Rustler VXL
The Traxxas Rustler VXL is a 1/10 scale RC car, and it is 17.5 inches long, 7 inches long, 5 inches wide, and weighs 1.69 kg. It has a top speed of 35+ mph and features a 2.4 GHz transmitter, a Velineon 3500 brushless motor, a high-torque waterproof steering servo, a torque-control slipper clutch system, and a Velineon VXL-3s ESC. This is one of the strongest RC cars that delivers brutal 4-wheel drive performance and increased durability.
What Is The Size Of A 1/18 Scale RC Car?
The average size of a 1/18 scale RC car is between 8 to 11 inches long, 4 to 6 inches wide, and 4 to 5.5 inches. The average weight of a 1/18 RC car is between 0.02 to 2 pounds. An example of a 1/18 scale RC car is the Losi 1/18 Scale Raminator RC Monster Truck.
DEERC 1/18 RC Car
Another 1/18 RC car is the DEERC RC car, and it is 9.45 inches long, 5.51 inches wide, 3.94 inches high, and weighs 0.634 ounces. This RC car features a tough PVC car shell, alloy differential, a strong shock absorber system, tough and durable tires, ultra-stable structure, and comes with two rechargeable batteries. It comes with a 2.4 GHz radio system, has a total runtime of 40 minutes, and a top speed of 40 mph.
RC car scale size plays an important role in determining the features of that car. An RC car with a scale size of 1/3 will not be as fast as a 1/10 scale size RC car. This is because the 1/3 car has much weight that will not make it move very fast. It is the same with a 1/10 and 1/18 scale car. The 1/10 is bigger than the 1/18 scale RC car.
